Victims feel listened to and are supported.
Many people experiencing or at risk of homelessness do not have everyday experience of the justice system. When they do, it is often because they have been a victim of crime. When this happens, their experience with the justice system can, unfortunately, be stressful and confusing. People who are street homeless are more likely to be victims of crime, including violent assault, abuse and intimidation, compared to the general public. Many people experiencing homelessness have had to leave their home because of violence, abuse or threatening behaviour.
