Data preceding April 2018 is not directly comparable with this time series.
Data following June 2018 regards duties applicable under the HRA 2017.
The introduction of initial homelessness duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act in April 2018 represents a break in the time series, as households now receive a minimum of 56 days assistance prior to being assessed for and owed a main duty.
Household data is 2018-based household projection data. 2018 projections used for all 4 quarters of 2018; 2019 projections used for all 4 quarters of 2019 etc.

The number assessed as homeless while already assessed within 2, 3, 4, and 5 years are also publicly available at the coutry level in the Scottish government publications. Figures on the number of households re-experiencing homelessness were rounded to nearest 5 for disclosure control reasons.

These statistics are drawn from households applying for homelessness assistance. Some of these households will not be eligible for or assessed as experiencing homelessness.
There were no data for 2 cases in 2019/20, hence why the sum of the different LAs is equal to 1,099 and yet the total for NI is 1,101.
